Zaahir Essa is a South African development driver who contested his 5th Formula Vee season in 2011. He is also an award-winning motorsport photographer. After entering the sport in 2007 with the Lotto Development Team, he has been gathering speed and experience to challenge at the head of the field and finished as the runner up to the 2010 championshipby a single point, despite missing two races. The 2011 season ended with Zaahir battling it out with an underperforming car yet again. After leading the championship initially, he was plagued by bad luck and unfortunately dropped to finished 4th in the championship despite some spirited driving. He will be looking to make amends in 2013...watch this space! |
